Produced in the Nilgiri Mountains of India, Up North Nilgiri is named for delight Michiganders get when going "up north."
The large, lighter colored leaves, make this a unique black tea. With herbal, floral, and citrus aromas, the brewed tea produces a smooth taste with a subtle turbinado sweetness and round mouthfeel.
Up North Nilgiri is grown at an elevation of 6,000 feet in the Nilgiri’s Coonoor district, renowned for its lush, green, rolling hills and its plethora of birds and wildflowers. The distinctive crafting of this tea includes plucking the leaves in the early morning. The leaves are withered for a short time and then gently rolled with light pressure. This imparts a semi-oxidized effect and allows its flavor to transform gradually.
The care and craftsmanship shown in producing this tea shine through in the brewed cup!
