Freedom Green is inspired by the role Michigan played in the Underground Railroad.

These tea leaves come from the old “Tuyet San” tea trees in the mountain ranges in northern Vietnam. Located at an altitude of about 1,500 m., the mountaintops are covered in thick clouds throughout the year. The ideal growing conditions guarantee a constant, high quality, and rare leaf.
The procesed leaves are beautifully curled. When steeped, olive-green leaf unfurles, disclosing the careful processing of the whole leaf. The golden-colored cup has a full, slightly sweet taste with a fresh, grass-like note. A medium bodied and robust green tea,
Freedom Green doesn't dissapoint!

About the Name

Michigan played a large role in the Underground Railroad from approximately 1800-1864. It is estimated that there were 200 "stops" throughout the state. After the passage of the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 many formerly enslaved people escaped into Canada where slavery was prohibited.
