Confessions of a Seasonal Tea Drinker

I have a confession that may surprise you.... I'm a seasonal tea drinker. Yes, you read that correctly. A seasonal tea drinker. But perhaps not in the way you may think. I drink hot tea year-round. Starting each and every day with a cup of Ypsi.Land.Tea. This strong, yet smooth, blend of black teas is gentle enough to drink before breakfast and strong enough to put a pep in my step!
It's my second, third, and yes even fourth or fifth cups where my preferences turn "seasonal." As if in sync with the changing seasons, my cravings automatically shift. When days become shorter and summer evenings turn cool, I replace my late afternoon or early evening iced tea with a comforting warm cuppa. I say a seasonal farewell to blends like Escanaba Nights and Isle Royale, knowing I will relish revisiting them in the spring and summer.
With the crisp cool notes of fall in the air I begin reaching more frequently for blends like Spiced Apple, Campfire, and Pictured Rocks Rooibos. The warm, full flavors of these teas remind me of our family visits to the orchards, cool nights around a fire, and the beauty of the autumn season.
I'll celebrate the first snow of the season by drinking Snow Day. And as fall turns to winter I’ll enjoy holiday blends like Sugar Plum and Christmas Cookie. I'll embrace the Winter Wonderland of Michigan, knowing that it will soon pass.
In the spring I'll return to lighter, fruit and floral forward blends like Shoreline Serenade, Rosie, and Lake Effect. That is until I begin craving the cool sweet sips of iced teas like Northern Lights and Shipwreck Alley Strawberry to balance out the hot days of summer.
I’ve decided to no longer hide my seasonal tea drinking habit, but to live into it with gusto! Whatever your unique or quirky tea habits, I encourage you to do the same. However you enjoy your tea, I hope it’s perfectly suited to your unique style! Let your tea flag fly!
Happy STEAPing,
Samantha
